Grand Steam Up
Happy New Year everyone, and thanks for reading our blog.
I just popped down to Kew Bridge Steam Museum to get schedule information on their annual Grand Steam Up which takes place today, tomorrow and Monday. This appears to be missing from their web site, unless I’m mistaken. So here it is.
Small Rotative Engines: 11:00 – 17:00
Hathorn Davey Engine: 11:30 – 16:45
Easton & Amos Engine: 11:15 – 11:50
1820 Boulton & Watt Cornish Engine: 12:00 – 12:35
James Simpson “Waddon” Engine: 12:40 – 13:05
Bull Engine: 13:10 – 13:45
James Kay “Dancers End” Engine: 13:50 – 14:15
1838 Maudslay Cornish Engine:Â 14:20 – 14:55
Easton & Amos Engine: 15:00 – 15:25
1846 Grand Junction 90 inch engine: 15:30 – 15:55
James Kay “Dancers End” Engine: 16:00 – 16:25
James Simpson “Waddon” Engine: 16:30 – 16:55
I think the items in bold are the more historically significant and/or the huge ones. I shall mosey down about midday and hang around until about 4 pm to catch the big one. A number of London Historians members and other friends are pitching up too. Please join us, else it’s a 12 month wait till next time.
If only
C & self hope to pitch up around noon – I’d quite like to see the Boulton & Watt. Name snobbery on my part.
