Pretty Pictures: Members' Card
From today, new members will get a different design of card. Our problem is selecting a lovely image, that problem being, of course, that there are so many to choose from. Here’s what we have so far, but would love to hear suggestions. Stipulations are: must be London (obviously) and a design consideration: needs an empty swathe (eg sky) top right to accommodate London Historians logo. I suppose the logo might be able to go bottom right in front of an empty piece of street or river, say.
Update: A Twitter follower, @thorn_waite made some useful design comments, resulting in this:
What do reckon?
St.Paul’s is definitely the most iconic. But St.James’s would be my second choice.
I have no other artistic suggestions because I am clueless about art.
I just know that I love the Fleet River picture because it is a little different. Also Greenwich – just because it’s my area.
St Paul’s is certainly iconic – maybe that’s why I am not keen on it. A little too predicable?
Tks Pete and Mo. Fleet River is getting lots of support via Twitter and email. St Paul’s is lovely but agree that it’s perhaps too obvious.
St James is my favourite. No reason for this, other than I am drawn to it the most out of the five options….
Anything by Thomas Hosmer Shepherd has my vote !
