Hats, trolley buses and bombsites
It being my birthday, my beloved gave me 100 Years of London: Twentieth Century in Pictures which comprises close to 300 images from The Press Association archive. Fascinating stuff, hub of the Empire in its last days. Pictures of times when the poor looked very poor and the rich looked very rich; everyone wore a hat and in the early part of the story there is a notable variety of modes of transport: bicycles, cars, trolley buses, trams, early omnibuses, horse and carts, a few remaning hansom cabs.
I’ve added it to the bookstore, here.
