The London History Festival 2011

london history festival 2011The third London History Festival, which opened on Monday, is off to a flying start. Last night I went to the History Girls talk at Waterstones in Kensington. Excellent turn-out and really insightful discussion by the panellists, all successful history writers. Plenty of good audience Q & A afterwards too.

On Wednesday 23rd, it’s the evening that we’re sponsoring, The Stones of London (again, Waterstones). It features Leo Hollis and Nigel Jones. I’ve read both of their most recent books which I reviewed on this blog here and here. I’m probably being biased by saying this has to be one of the best items on the programme. I have four complimentary tickets left for anyone who’d like to join us: contact me pronto on admin@londonhistorians.org.

The London History Festival (14 – 24 November) is sponsored by Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Next November is a long time away, so do come on down. Tickets are excellent value at £5 and usually include a glass of wine (I’m going by last night’s experience, I managed to blag two!). It’s best to check and pre-book since some talks are sold-out.
